Ignacio Núñez Lizana
San Fernando, Chile.
Since childhood, I have been fascinated by small objects and the treasures I found in the garden that would transform into fantastic stories. This passion materialized when I created my first ring from a nut, about 20 years ago. My journey into contemporary jewelry began through sculpture, bringing this art into a wearable form. Over the years, I have developed lines of sculpture, painting, and jewelry, all based on the same concept or process of investigation.
I have participated in exhibitions and training programs in the field of contemporary jewelry, where I have learned from some of today's great exponents. Among them, I have had the opportunity to train with Jorge Manilla and complement my knowledge with studies in other areas of the visual arts."
Statement:
"Contemplation: assuming the role of an observer gives me the unique freedom to expose myself to any environment, allowing me to absorb multiple sensations without making rushed judgments. From this space of openness and curiosity, infinite textures, patterns, and rhythms emerge, permeating each of the pieces I create. My line of work is based on the integration of diverse artistic disciplines, exploring how they can be fused to create a cohesive and evocative visual language. Jewelry, sculpture, and painting intertwine in a continuous dialogue, feeding off one another and enriching each project.
Through this interdisciplinary approach, I seek to challenge conventions and expand the boundaries of what is possible in contemporary art.
Ultimately, my intention is to invite the viewer to share this journey of contemplation, to discover beauty in the everyday, and to find new perspectives in the familiar. My pieces are not just objects but sensory experiences that seek to resonate on a deep and personal level, connecting art with life in its purest and most authentic form."
