Pola Stella Ramos Marré
Santiago, Chile.
As a Product Designer by profession, I have been involved in creation for over 20 years, initially exploring wood, furniture design, and mosaics.
Since 2015, my creative drive has channeled into the micro, organically giving rise to jewelry and the use of copper as an expression. Through this, I have participated in and explored contexts where craftsmanship is the protagonist. I have had the opportunity to teach and share my knowledge, actively collaborate in organizations to highlight the characteristics that distinguish craftsmanship from other creation and commercialization criteria, primarily the connection with the territory. This is why my work and proposal have focused on representing the floral nature of my surroundings with copper.
Currently, I feel the need to expand my limits, to explore new environments, contexts, and creation languages where Joya Brava and Contemporary Jewelry can provide me with vision.
Statement:
"My work is based on experimentation with copper jewelry and the representation of our botanical territory through it.
Nature, leaves, flowers, and trees in various contexts—native, urban, and wild—accompany our lives, adorn our spaces, and nourish and heal us both physically and emotionally.
They are accompanied by scientific, popular, and mystical meanings, and are part of our customs, history, and native heritage.
My work not only represents the versatility and expression that copper, our national metal, can evoke but also educates and visually shares the floral richness of our country.Currently, I feel the need to expand my limits, to explore new environments, contexts, and creation languages where Joya Brava and Contemporary Jewelry can provide me with vision.
